MacGyver was successful enough that it ran for seven seasons on ABC, wrapping up in April 1992. Two made-for-TV movies followed in 1994, and an attempt at a Young MacGyver series with a pilot filmed (but not aired) in 2003, but that didn't pan out.
Besides the brain, MacGyver made serious physical demands on its lead, Richard Dean Anderson. Last Wednesday, the 25th South Park anniversary concert enjoyed some Canadian diplomacy by reuniting the two living members of Rush, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, to rock out to “Closer to the Heart” as a “little surprise” for the audience. The performance came more than two years after their sorcerer of a drummer, Neil Peart, died of brain cancer — which led the duo to state that Rush was “over” as they knew it. Read More...
It’s that time of year when the days are getting shorter and colder, and on this week’s Saturday Night Live, Bowen Yang and Emma Stone sang a somber tune about how that affects their moods. But there’s one thing that can always cheer them up: “Riding on the back of a garbage truck fully naked in the middle of New York City.” Obviously.
